Howard Finch established Finch's Restaurant located on West Peace Street in 1945.

It has been a favorite breakfast and lunch choice for regulars and old timers for over 70 years.

The restaurant has become famous for its southern charm and food, a winning combination that makes you feel right at home.

The Dept. of Transportation is planning on a  $ 37 million bridge replacement of the Capital Boulevard bridge over Peace Street. Many private businesses will be demolished in 2017 to make way for this new bridge.

Finch’s  current owner,  Peggy Jin, bought the restaurant in 1991. She will be moving in 2017 to a new location on Chapel Hill Road in Durham.

The regulars of Finch's Restaurant have been leaving their goodbyes as artwork on the walls of the restaurant.

In a way, these walls are talking…
